on-Disk.com
Linux Mint will no longer sell CDs. We've talked to on-disk.com and they do that much better than us:
- All editions are now available worldwide only a few days after their release.
- A single-CD edition now costs $10 (compared to $29.99 previously)
- On-disk takes care of everything, from the product to the delivery. All we need to do is make the ISO so we can fully focus on the distribution and not worry about selling CDs.
- Part of the money you pay goes to the distribution and helps us maintain and develop it (approx. $5 for a single-CD edition).
You can already buy CDs for Bianca and Cassandra. All editions are available:
A 5-disc pack is also available for Bianca, containing all editions (Main, KDE, miniKDE, Light) and the Bianca repository:
Note: The printing seems to be of good quality, here's a picture of one of the CDs:

Linux Mint 3.0: Cassandra
- The first beta of the XFCE Community Edition should be released early this week. This edition will come with a version of mintConfig customized for XFCE and mintInstall 2.3.
mintMag
The first issue of mintMag was published. If you haven't read it yet follow the link below:

Note: mintMag is being translated by the Community in Spanish.
Linux Mint 3.1: Celena
Development has started on Celena. One of the key improvements will be mintAssistant, a first-run wizard which will assist the user in fine-tuning Linux Mint.
MintAssistant will allow the user to:
- disable kernel updates
- switch between mint themes
- switch between panel layouts
- enable the root account
- disable fortune messages
- switch between fstab/mintDisk for NTFS/FAT partitions
Compiz Fusion
Beryl and Compiz have merged and the resulting project is called Compiz Fusion. Here's a video preview of Compiz Fusion:

Of course this should replace both Beryl and Compiz in Celena.
mintArt
mintArt and its number 1 artist Carlos are working hard at redesigning our website. Here is a rough preview of how the new website will look like:
