Well its been a long hard road, with many great ideas, but the final logo was chosen. Linux Mint finally has an identity.

A branding manual which will explain in detail the usage requirements for the logo, is being created. Soon to follow with the 3.1 cassandra release will be all new artwork and theme to match.

A suggention by Clem:

I'd like the mintArt team to elaborate on these 4 and give them a bit more polishing.
Also, it would be nice to see how these 4 logos behave:
* in different sizes (as Carlos did it before)
* on top of different backgrounds (white, beige, black, grey, etc..).

If possible, I think the name "Linux Mint" (or simply "Mint") should be written under the logo.
The same way Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian have a logo which identifies them, with sometimes their name written under it.

We hope to have new final versions shortly, in the mean time feel free to discuss or throw around ideas on the [forum].
