Linux Mint 3.0: Cassandra
- The Light Edition of Cassandra was released and "Multimedia Support 1.0" was published in the Linux Mint Software Portal. This multimedia support package contains all the plugins and codecs present in the Full Edition of Linux Mint. The combination of these two releases allow magazines and other distributors to safely give away Linux Mint to their audience, and the users to quickly add multimedia support if they want to:

- Development of Cassandra KDE Edition has started. This edition will work on a kernel 2.6.20-15 with either KDE 3.5.6 or KDE 3.5.7. Thunderbird will replace Kontact/Kmail. Sunbird and mintInstall will also be present. NTFS support will be done via ntfs-config.
- The community is working on two extra editions: Cassandra XFCE Edition and Cassandra E17 Edition, which comes with Englightenment. The XFCE Edition should be released soon.
