Q: What is the latest stable release of KDE?
A: KDE 4.2 is the latest stable release.
Q: Will the next LM KDE release have KDE4?
A: Yes. LM 6 KDE will NOT have KDE 4.1, LM 6 KDE will wait until it can be built based on KDE 4.2, and will have the same package base as Kubuntu 8.10.
Q: Is KDE better the gnome?
A: Yes. Well... I think so anyway. Gnome and KDE are different and they have different strengths and weaknesses, it is up to the individual to decide which one is better for them.
Q: I am new to linux, which edition should I download?
A: The Main edition. Thought some people think that KDE is than gnome, the LM Main Edition is the "Main" edition and it gets more focus and is less likely to have bugs and other problems. This does not really mean that the Main Edition is better than the KDE edition, but for a new user, it is the one that you should use.
