Fixing MintMenu and Beryl focus problems

From The Linux Mint Wiki

There is a common problem that occurs with MintMenu and the Beryl window manager where the MintMenu will only appear every third click. Probably gone with Daryna

[edit] A quick test for this problem:

  • Minimize all open windows.
  • Place a window partially over the area covered by the MintMenu
  • Click the MintMenu button repeatedly
  • If the menu is alternating position from appearing above the open window and below then you are experiencing this problem.

[edit] To correct this conflict with Beryl complete the following steps:

  • Open the Beryl settings manager
  • Under "General Options" on the main tab set the "Level of Focus Stealing Prevention" to "None"

This will correct any focus problems with the MintMenu and Beryl. MintMenu will always appear on-top of any other windows and it will always start focused. This will also correct the same problem with Tilda and Beryl.
