No sound Toshiba Satellite

can you play any sound at all? like an mp3 or music CD.

you could try this in a terminal to reconfig you sound. (thanks to scorp123, but the German was a bit above me.)

sudo dpkg-reconfigure alsa

:D

is the way to - well, reconfigure alsa...
You have posted the content of xorg.conf above
Do you have video problems as well and messed up your posts?
Try the reconfigure command if you haven't done so yet

Hi guys,

not sure if this was solved yet, but to get the sound working one must download the Suse snapshot of Alsa and compile it. Your sound will run after that.

You compile it probably the usual way with make.

Welcome to Mint nikn
I thought alsa was installed by default but I may be wrong
Open synaptic (Install software) and search for alsa. Then mark it for installation or reinstallation
