When I load up beryl as window manager, with emerald as the window decorator, the window borders dissappear...I tried reloading the wm and the wd, but nothing works...
I tried to apply a theme that was compatible with human, however, nothing appears to work. Its not drastic, but it does detract from the user experience.
Also, how do you set beryl as the default window manager?

I know I have seen the solution to such a problem in the forum, but I do not have the time to look for it (at least not today)
Look in the how to section for a post on Beryl and in the wiki - if changing the theme doesn't help there are some "funny" lines to add in xorg.conf but I don't remember them

civint,
From a fresh install I added the "Restricted Drivers". That gave me Beryl, and the 3-D Desktop with a few key strokes -- "CTRL + alt + left mouse key. Then move the cursor.
I'm now looking for the scripts to auto-launch Beryl on Boot.
Oh, I am now using an NVidia Card on my Notebook.
You should have seen what this was like with an ATI card... Compiling, trashing, starting all over again.
This is pretty simple with the help of the latest Mint Distro.

By chance is terminal also just a white blank space? If so, right click on the Beryl diamond and select Metacity as the window manager.
Go to terminal and execute:
sudo nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals
Close any open apps, then restart your X session (e.g. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace).
Then change the window manager back to Beryl.

Guys,
I come back to a fresh install of Caasandra.
I've been playing with Linux, and all those "Eye Candy" options for a while. There is no need to go to terminal.
It all works for me off of Cassandra and my NVidia Driver. In the past, I did it with Bianca, and ATI Drivers.
BTW, I love the Mint. Great job guys.

Thanks!
To learn something more about linux; What did this command exactly change in nvidia-xconfig?
