Post by sourwire »

For the FIRST time in my life, I have wireless internet working on Linux. I just can't express my happiness.

If you are happy for me, please send me a smiley.

I LOVE LINUX MINT!

Well, my network uses WEP, so I used to Network Applet (on the panel) to choose my network, then type of key and the key itself. But before that, I had to configure my windows driver with ndiswrapper.

ndiswrapper -i <drivername> (in my case it was "wusb54g.inf" It also asked for the .sys file, so I supplied it as well with the same command.
ndiswrapper -l (to check if the driver is working and hardware is present)
ndiswrapper -m (startup)

Reboot.
Now that I switched to Xfce, I needed to make some GNOME services work with Xfce, like that Network Mangaer applet. It even works on xfce. Next adventure: mintMenu.
