Now my monitor looks set to appeal to Mr. Magoo. Ive gone through every menu item, Ive been on the forums, Ive prayed for inspiration (no answer) so before I set fire to my computer ( kidding) I would like to ask two questions.
1. Why is such a simple thing like resizing the icons and text so bloomin difficult? Surely this ought to involve a few obvious clicks instead of a day and a half of reading, trawling and taking headache tablets.
2. How do I do it.?
The obvious place it would seem, is to set screen resolution. However there are only two options, neither of which are right for the monitor I have. The monitor should be 1680 x 1050.
I really liked my mint 5 xcfe. Now I regret changing it to mint 6. I had a nice working computer before that. In fact, I remember a question on the forums asking about how to propagate and make mint more attractive to users. I have some suggestions: a, not everyone is a geek and some people might like an operating system that 'just works'. b. It needs to be seen as 'cool' by people and not be seen as a technical headache. c. It could be propagated by individual advertising. For example, if someone uses mint and say, designs a website, they could display a logo 'Designed using Mint 6' or something similar. The cooler the site the cooler mint will appear. ( Until someone tries it and cant set the screen to look normal
)Finally, why not just release an upgrade? It would save huge amounts of file saving, formatting and poncing about generally.
