why cant things be simpler in linux

i have been trying to install adobe flash player for 2 hours ,i give up

What steps are you using to install flash?
Are you trying the one in synaptic or from the adobe site?

from both places i found the Flash plugin-nonfree in synaptic and installed that,but it still wont work

the 1 from the site i can not extract files ,so i am not sure why this is happening

The one ins synaptic won't work cause adobe removed the file from their server.
You could use the one from the romeo repo, since that's the latest version it is still on the server.

You need to use file-roller to extract files.
Make sure it's using file-roller to open the file.

sorry to but in on your post but by chance do you have the latest link for flash player? i have tried everything and im getting a little upset with my computer
