This should fix it:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get purge flashplugin-nonfree gnash gnash-common libflashsupport mozilla-plugin-gnash nspluginwrapper swfdec-mozilla && sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
Flash is uninstalled and then reinstalled.

Didn't work for me, still getting the blank screen, Flash works but at times it cuts out.

I do have Adobe Flash Player plugin version 10 (adobe-flashplugin) installed as well, should I remove this?

Well, when I just ran:

sudo apt-get purge flashplugin-nonfree gnash gnash-common libflashsupport mozilla-plugin-gnash nspluginwrapper swfdec-mozilla && sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

I restarted and I can't play any Flash programs now, when on YouTube it says:

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

But looking in the Synaptic I have adobe-flashplugin, flashplugin-nonfree & flashplugin-nonfree extrasound all installed.

I'm confused now.

What am I looking for in the padlock, it's all up to date.

Well, even more confused now as I un-installed adobe-flashplugin, flashplugin-nonfree & flashplugin-nonfree extrasound through the Synaptic and then re-installed them all again and now I don't seem to be having any problems running Flash, even on Metacafe where I couldn't run any Flash videos it now runs smoothly.

Confused but it's working so I'm happy :D

I've been annoyed by that problem for about a year. Just read this thread: http://www.linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopi ... &sk=t&sd=a
and simply uninstalled flashplugin-nonfree and installed adobe-flashplugin. Now I can finally run more than one flash at the same time.
