* News about Mint

Merlwiz and Exploder are happy to release LinuxMint-6-XFCE as an RC. A few things have to be checked and/or added to the repositories and Merlwiz needs to write release notes but it’s likely this release will be ready any time now.

LinuxMint-6-x64 is ready for testing and will be released soon (at the end of the coming week we hope)

After a lot of testing and talking we decided KDE 4.1 wasn’t fit for usage and we couldn’t release it this way. The decision was made to wait for KDE 4.2 stable (which is planned for the end of this month) and to then design a Mint 6 KDE CE based on Kubuntu 8.10 but with Amarok 2.0 and KDE 4.2. This means there won’t be any KDE CE release this month.

  2. I’m agree with the choice of 4.2. I’ve installed kde4.2rc on kubuntu 8.10 (only because gnome gave me some problems) and i was very happy: all bugs of 4.1 on my laptop are solved and system config is complete. All works Fine!
    I REALLY WAIT FOR MINT KDE 4.2!!

    ps: new look kde 4.2 is wonderful, don’t change it a lot…
